Attempts to ransom him were unsuccessful until 1689, he probably died in captivity.",

"notes": "Verwaltungsgeschichte:\tDas Departement für Ordensangelegenheiten wurde 1915 durch Vereinigung der Kanzleien des Leopolds-, Eisernen Kronen- und Franz Josephs-Ordens gegründet und beim Obersthofmeisteramt eingerichtet.\r\nArchivierungsgeschichte:\tDie neue Zentralkanzlei übernahm aus den einzelnen Ordenskanzleien die Vorakten bis zum Jahrgang 1898 und führt ab dem Jahrgang 1916 für alle drei Ordenskanzleien nun gemeinsame Find- und Geschäftsbücher. Nach den Zerfall der Monarchie wurden die Geschäfte der Ordenskanzlei ab dem 28. November 1921 bis Ende Dezember 1922 von der neuerrichteten Abteilung Hofarchive des Staatsarchivs geführt. Danach wurden die Archivalien an das Finanzministerium abgetreten, welches die Aufgaben der ehemaligen Ordenskanzlei bis 1949 fortführte.",
